If you ever wondered why your conservative friend or liberal friend seems to live on a different planet than you….it’s because he or she does. Continue reading
I’m not embarrassed for turning the channel on my life, for trying to avoid horrible news. I’m embarrassed at how easy it is for me to turn it off. How privileged I am to be able to avoid it, and for it to largely not impact my life. Continue reading
We need more of the humaneness in humanity and less of the people in people. Continue reading
The pool of voters for Biden is much larger than people realize. Trump’s supporters are shrinking more and more and there actually a ton of persuadable voters that actually want a politician to level with them. Blind loyalty to the Democrats is a turn off to people that were sympathetic to Trump prior to the pandemic. These voters aren’t stupid and they resent being treated as such. People that never thought they could ever vote for a Biden / Harris ticket, actually might, but they don’t want to be lumped in with a bunch of sycophants. Continue reading
But, then in 1996 is this kid from Philadelphia (my mother’s home-town) having gone to Lower Merion HS with cousins of mine, and that was Kobe “Jelly Bean” Bryant. I was a freshman in high school when he came on the scene, and it was like he was the next Michael Jordan. While there is no other MJ, who I always looked up to with reverence, it was more like I grew up with Kobe. He was just a bit younger than my older sister and just a bit older than me. He was my guy! I followed his career super closely. Watching him play in games, was must see TV for me. He was the consummate professional and the ultimate competitor. Continue reading
Very rarely does Geo-political matters and the State of the National Basketball Association intersect like this, but it has, and the NBA gets a failing grade for its handling of this matter (14). They are more concerned with corporate greed much like GOOGLE, APPLE and many other multi-billion-dollar entities who are Head-Quartered in the UNITED STATES (15). To say otherwise, means either you are truly ignorant, willfully ignorant, or you have a real incentive to protect the NBA Brand because of financial reasons (16), Continue reading
Since that 1992 NBA postseason I have watched or closely followed every playoff season since. Granted some playoff year stand out more than others, but every single one had something memorable. From that postseason through 2000, I will tell you my Knicks were always relevant (6). Granted, they weren’t realistic contenders all those years but they were certainly in the mix and they came really close in 93(7), 94(8), 95(9) & even 99(10*). Other teams were memorable than too, from the Gary Payton/ Shawn Kemp Seattle Super-Sonics (11), to the Stockton to Malone – Utah Jazz(12) as well as Mark Price(13) and his time on the Cleveland Cavaliers. I have just deliberately been trying on self-love! And honestly, I’m not particularly good at it. But, here’s the other funny thing…it doesn’t fucking matter that I’m not good at it! LOL. That revelation right there is more freeing than anything Continue reading

All of us have an expiration date on life, some sooner than others. Even in Alice’s sickness, she still experienced life, and knew that she was loved and that she had a grandchild, too. I celebrate all of my mother’s life, even the more painful or sad memories, because even if it wasn’t filled with joy, all the time, there are still memories full of me being with my mom, and that is enough to sustain me, and keep me going strong.
